Privacy Policy

IMPOLS (“IMPOLS”, “we”, “us”) is a fitness-tracking app for iPhone and Apple Watch, published by IMPOLS. This Privacy Policy explains what information the IMPOLS app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the IMPOLS iOS app and its Apple Watch companion app.

The short version

• IMPOLS is designed to keep your workout and health data on your own device wherever possible.
• Motion data from your Apple Watch is processed on-device to detect your reps, sets and effort. It is not uploaded to our servers.
• We never sell your personal information, and we never use your health or fitness data for advertising.
• Creating an account is optional. IMPOLS works fully without one.

Information We Collect

Health and motion data. While you train, your Apple Watch’s motion sensors (accelerometer and gyroscope) are used to detect reps, sets, range of motion, tempo and time under tension. This processing happens on your device. With your permission, IMPOLS also reads and writes workout data (such as heart rate and active energy) through Apple’s HealthKit, so your sessions appear in the Health app and count toward your Activity rings.

Account information (optional). If you choose to sign in with Apple, we receive the identifier Apple provides for your account (and an email address, which may be an Apple-generated private relay address if you choose to hide your email) so your training history can carry over if you change devices. If you do not sign in, no account information is collected and the app works fully using on-device storage only.

Device and diagnostic information. Like most apps, IMPOLS may receive standard technical information from the operating system (such as crash reports) to help us fix bugs. This information is not linked to your health data.

How We Use Health Data

Data collected through HealthKit, and the motion data collected via your Apple Watch, is used solely to provide and improve the core functionality of IMPOLS: detecting your sets and reps, scoring your effort, showing your recovery status per muscle group, and writing completed workouts back to the Health app. We do not use your health or fitness data for advertising or marketing, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertising networks. We do not disclose your health data to any third party without your consent, except as required by law.

Where Your Data Lives

Your workout history, motion measurements, and recovery data are stored on your device. If you use Apple Health, that data also lives in the Health app under Apple’s own privacy protections. If you create an optional account, your account identifier is managed by Firebase Authentication (a Google Cloud service) solely to let you sign back in and to link your device; your workout and health data is not stored on Firebase or any IMPOLS server.

In-App Purchases

IMPOLS may offer optional in-app purchases. All payment processing is handled directly by Apple through the App Store; IMPOLS never receives or stores your payment card details.

Third-Party Services

IMPOLS uses the following third-party services:

• Apple HealthKit: reads and writes workout, heart rate and activity data, governed by Apple’s own privacy terms.
• Sign in with Apple / Firebase Authentication: only used if you choose to create an optional account.
• Apple App Store: processes any in-app purchases.

We do not use third-party advertising networks or analytics SDKs that track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Your Choices

• You can grant or revoke IMPOLS’s access to HealthKit at any time in the Health app, under Sharing → Apps.
• You can delete your on-device workout history at any time by deleting and reinstalling the app.
• If you created an optional account, you can sign out or request deletion of your account by contacting us at the email address below.

Children’s Privacy

IMPOLS is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above.
